Gv 3,31-36
Chi viene dall'alto, è al di sopra di tutti; ma chi viene dalla terra, appartiene alla terra e parla secondo la terra. Chi viene dal cielo è al di sopra di tutti. Egli attesta ciò che ha visto e udito, eppure nessuno accetta la sua testimonianza. Chi ne accetta la testimonianza, conferma che Dio è veritiero. Colui infatti che Dio ha mandato dice le parole di Dio: senza misura egli dà lo Spirito.
Il Padre ama il Figlio e gli ha dato in mano ogni cosa. Chi crede nel Figlio ha la vita eterna; chi non obbedisce al Figlio non vedrà la vita, ma l'ira di Dio rimane su di lu

In illo témpore: Cum sero esset die illo, una sabbatórum, et fores essent clausæ, ubi erant discípuli congregáti propter metum Iudæórum: venit Iesus, et stetit in médio, et dixit eis: Pax vobis. Et cum hoc dixísset, osténdit eis manus et latus. Gavísi sunt ergo discípuli, viso Dómino. Dixit ergo eis íterum: Pax vobis. Sicut misit me Pater, et ego mitto vos. Hæc cum dixísset, insufflávit, et dixit eis: Accípite Spíritum Sanctum: quorum remiseritis peccáta, remittúntur eis; et quorum retinuéritis, reténta sunt. Thomas autem unus ex duódecim, qui dícitur Dídymus, non erat cum eis, quando venit Iesus. Dixérunt ergo ei alii discípuli: Vídimus Dóminum. Ille autem dixit eis: Nisi vídero in mánibus eius fixúram clavórum, et mittam dígitum meum in locum clavórum, et mittam manum meam in latus eius, non credam. Et post dies octo, íterum erant discípuli eius intus, et Thomas cum eis. Venit Iesus, iánuis clausis, et stetit in médio, et dixit: Pax vobis. Deinde dicit Thomæ: Infer dígitum tuum huc et vide manus meas, et affer manum tuam et mitte in latus meum: et noli esse incrédulus, sed fidélis. Respóndit Thomas et dixit ei: Dóminus meus et Deus meus. Dixit ei Iesus: Quia vidísti me, Thoma, credidísti: beáti, qui non vidérunt, et credidérunt. Multa quidem et alia signa fecit Iesus in conspéctu discipulórum suórum, quæ non sunt scripta in libro hoc. Hæc autem scripta sunt, ut credátis, quia Iesus est Christus, Fílius Dei: et ut credéntes vitam habeátis in nómine eius. .
John 20. 19-31
At that time, when it was late that same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together for fear of the Jews, Jesus came, and stood in the midst and said to them: Peace be to you. And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent Me, I also send you. When He had said this, He breathed on them, and He said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost: whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Except I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe. And after eight days, again His disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said: Peace be to you. Then He saith to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither, and see My hands, and bring hither thy hand, and put into My side; and be not faithless, but believing. Thomas answered and said to Him: my Lord and my God. Jesus saith to him: Because thou hast seen Me, Thomas, thou hast believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed. Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of His disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that, believing, you may have life in His Nam

Gospel: JN 3:31-36
The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy. For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit. The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.

Dio degli eserciti,
che hai acceso la fiamma dell’amore
nel cuore del tuo servo Giorgio
affinché rendesse testimonianza al Signore risorto
con la sua vita e la sua morte:
concedi a noi la stessa fede e la stessa forza dell’amore
affinché possiamo rallegrarci nel suo trionfo
e condividere con lui la pienezza della risurrezione;
te lo chiediamo per mezzo di Gesù Cristo tuo Figlio e nostro Signore,
che vive e regna con te,
nell’unità dello Spirito Santo,
unico Dio, ora e per sempre.

Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: << Se il mondo vi odia, sappiate che prima di voi ha odiato me. Se foste del mondo, il mondo amerebbe ciò che è suo; poiché invece non siete del mondo, ma io vi ho scelti dal mondo, per questo il mondo vi odia. Ricordatevi della parola che vi ho detto: Un servo non è più grande del suo padrone. Se hanno perseguitato me, perseguiteranno anche voi; se hanno osservato la mia parola, osserveranno anche la vostra. Ma tutto questo vi faranno a causa del mio nome, perché non conoscono colui che mi ha mandato. >>
18 If the world hates you, remember that the world
hated me before you. 19 This would not be so if you belonged to
the world, because the world loves its own. But you are not of the
world since I have chosen you from the world; because of this the
world hates you.
20 Remember what I told you: the servant is not greater than
his master; if they persecuted me, they will persecute you, too.
Have they kept my teaching? Will they then keep yours? 21 All
this they will do to you for the sake of my name because they do not
know the One who sent me

Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: << Se qualcuno vuol venire dietro a me rinneghi se stesso, prenda la sua croce e mi segua. Perché chi vorrà salvare la propria vita, la perderà; ma chi perderà la propria vita per causa mia, la troverà. Qual vantaggio infatti avrà l’uomo se guadagnerà il mondo interno, e poi perderà la propria anima? O che cosa l’uomo potrà dare in cambio della propria anima? Poiché il Figlio dell’uomo verrà nella gloria del Padre suo, con i suoi angeli, e renderà a ciascuno secondo le sue azioni. In verità vi dico: vi sono alcuni tra i presenti che non morranno finché non vedranno il Figlio dell’uomo venire nel suo regno >>.
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If you want to follow
me, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me. 25 For
whoever chooses to save his life will lose it, but the one who loses
his life for my sake will find it. 26 What will one gain by
winning the whole world if he destroys himself? There is nothing
you can give to recover your own self.
27 Know that the Son of Man will come in the Glory of his
Father with the holy angels, and he will reward each one according
to his deeds. 28 Truly, I tell you, there are some here who
will not die before they see the Son of Man coming as king."
